Opening Scripture
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Leave Tomorrow With God
There are things you will not resolve today.
Questions will remain unanswered.
Decisions may still be waiting.
Someone you love may still be finding their way.
A situation may look almost exactly as it did when this week began.
And that can be frustrating.
We like endings.
We like answers.
We like the relief of knowing how something turned out.
But life does not always organize itself neatly before the weekend arrives.
Sometimes Saturday comes and the question is still a question.
Jesus gives us permission to leave it there.
“Do not worry about tomorrow.”
Not because tomorrow does not matter.
Because tomorrow does not belong to today.
You Have Already Carried Enough Today
Think about how much of tomorrow can find its way into a single day.
A conversation that might happen.
A bill that will eventually arrive.
A decision someone may make.
A medical appointment on the calendar.
A change at work.
A family concern.
A possibility that exists only in your imagination.
None of those things is happening at this moment.
Yet we can experience them emotionally as though they are.
The body sits in today while the mind lives three days, three weeks, or three months ahead.
No wonder we become tired.
We are trying to live more than one day at a time.
Jesus offers another way.
Let today be today.
Tomorrow Will Have Grace Too
Sometimes we worry ahead because we are evaluating tomorrow with today’s strength.
We imagine a future difficulty and think:
I do not know if I can handle that.
Perhaps you cannot handle tomorrow today.
You were never asked to.
The grace you have today is for the life in front of you now.
When tomorrow arrives, it will not arrive alone.
God will still be present.
Wisdom will still be available.
Prayer will still be possible.
Help may appear that you cannot see yet.
Circumstances may change.
And you will meet tomorrow with resources you do not currently possess because you do not currently need them.
You do not have to stockpile enough emotional strength tonight for every possibility ahead.
Some Questions Can Remain Unanswered Tonight
There is a difference between responsibility and constant mental occupation.
You can care about something without thinking about it every minute.
You can have an unresolved decision without continually rehearsing it.
You can love someone without monitoring every possible outcome.
You can prepare wisely without trying to predict everything.
And you can pray about tomorrow without moving into it mentally.
Perhaps one of the most faithful things you can do tonight is say:
I have done what I can for today.
Then stop.
Not forever.
Just for today.
Put Down What Does Not Belong to This Day
Imagine setting tomorrow down.
The meeting.
The decision.
The conversation.
The test result.
The family concern.
The unanswered prayer.
You are not pretending it does not exist.
You are simply refusing to carry it before its time.
This is where the instruction of Jesus becomes deeply practical.
Tomorrow will arrive soon enough.
When it does, you can meet it.
But right now, you are here.
There may be someone beside you who deserves your attention.
There may be a meal to enjoy.
A sunset to notice.
A quiet room.
A conversation.
A good book.
A few minutes of prayer.
A bed waiting at the end of the day.
Do not allow an imaginary tomorrow to consume the real gifts God has placed in today.
This Week Was Never About Finding Every Answer
All week we have been learning how to live when we do not know what comes next.
We began by accepting that we do not need the whole map.
We learned to walk with the light God provides.
We considered taking the faithful step without knowing the outcome.
We asked God for wisdom when we could not figure things out.
We entrusted people we love to Him when their choices were beyond our control.
And yesterday, we remembered that wherever tomorrow takes us, God will be there.
So perhaps Week Eleven ends exactly where it should.
Not with every question answered.
But with our hands a little more open.
Our grip a little less tight.
Our hearts a little more willing to say:
God, tomorrow belongs to You.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for carrying me through this week.
Some questions have been answered, and others remain.
Some things are clearer, and others are still uncertain.
Tonight, I choose to leave tomorrow with You.
Help me release the conversations that have not happened, the decisions that have not been made, and the outcomes I cannot control.
Forgive me for borrowing trouble from days that have not arrived.
Give me grace to live fully in the day You have actually given me.
Let me notice what is good here.
Let me receive rest without guilt.
Let me trust that when tomorrow arrives, You will meet me there with whatever I need.
I do not need to solve tonight what belongs to another day.
Tomorrow is Yours.
And for now, that is enough.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Today’s Reflection
Before this day ends, ask yourself:
What am I carrying tonight that actually belongs to tomorrow?
Name it.
Pray about it.
Then imagine placing it into God’s hands.
You can pick up tomorrow’s responsibilities when tomorrow arrives.
You do not have to sleep holding them.
Closing Blessing
May your mind grow quiet from questions that do not need answers tonight.
May your hands loosen around outcomes you cannot control.
May you receive the grace God has provided for this day.
And may you rest knowing that tomorrow can remain with Him until tomorrow comes.
